So Lucky { Issaquah Child Photographer }

I am the luckiest girl around!  I get to see these lovelies twice a year, once for all their birthdays and once in their awesome Halloween costumes, and this will be the sixth year for the biggest one…I can’t even believe it as I am typing….I must be wrong.  I will have to go now and double check.  Can she possibly be turning 6?   Anyway, it is always fun to see the whole family and catch up on what’s new.  Here are just a few of my favorites from this year’s birthday session….

With the dog too!  Hurrah!

So cute I just want to squeeze them!

Aren’t they just adorable. Lovely light for the photos.

Session Interrupted { Seattle Child Photographer }

This last weekend marked my most exciting session ever.  Yes, the family is a lovely one that I have photographed before.  Yes, we were documenting the little man’s 100th day (just like we did his sister) and yes, that is a really big deal.  And yes, the weather, which was forecasted to be rainy and dismal was sunny and beautiful.  But all of that combined does not earn this session the “most exciting session” ever title.  We had a special visitor and I was so focused on photographing the little guy that I almost missed the whole thing.  Thank goodness everyone else was way more aware of their surroundings than I…this is why I should never go out with my camera alone.  I become completely oblivious to everything else.  Anyway, looky who stopped by for a visit….

Ack!  There endeth the outdoor portion of our session.  Ok, enough about our visitor and on to the cute kiddos….here are just a few of my favorites…

Adorable big sister!  Last time I saw her she was 100 days old.

Beautiful mama and her sweet boy.  We were sure to get lots of shots of mama and her cuties since she is the family photographer and doesn’t get into many photos herself.  I may know a little something about that phenomenon.  In fact, (I am so excited about this) she and I are going to do some one on one mentoring/camera lessons starting this weekend and you all know there is not much I love more than talking about photo stuff!

Big sister sure thinks the little guy is pretty fantastic…there was lots of kissing and hand holding going on between them through the whole session.

The traditional 100th day attire.  We have a shot of his sister that is almost identical.

Love her sweet giggle and her great dress!

Go Huskies!  He’s clearly a big fan.  His mama is a professor at the UW and actually, we are meeting in her office for our mentoring session this weekend….I’m wondering if I will have a total flashback and feel like I am going to office hours to get help on some difficult homework.

Oh my goodness, so cute! I can’t believe you saw a bear!!! These photos are great!! I hope this means that one day I’ll run into you, Judith, at Paccar Hall!!

WOW! Gorgeous photos! Lovely visitor, also.

Bear is best roasted at 425 for an hour, although you may want to check that it’s not escaped from the zoo, in which case you will have to pay a huge fine and stay in jail for a long time.

A Hat Trick { Issaquah Newborn Photography }

This session gives me a hat trick.  I have been lucky enough to photograph all three of the adorable boys in this family as newborns…and that is no small feat considering they live 2 states away.  I do love a good roadtrip but just about nothing can keep me away from a newborn!  Anyway, here is a quick peek at a few of my favorites…love you guys!

Isn’t he perfect?

Now feel free to enjoy the rest without a lot of extra blathering on and on….

These are so beautiful!! Love the close up of the bamino’s face, and love the shot of the brothers – you can tell biggest brother is being so careful and gentle with his hands.

LOVE! Thank you for the epic road trip, version 3.0. I love our big boys’ close ups and holy-be-still-my-heart, the picture of our boys all together! Dream.come.true.

What gorgeous photos of the adorable brothers. The tiniest one’s photos are beautiful and crisp. I can even see the soft fuzz on his cheeks. Feet photo excellent, also.

Newborns.  Is there anything better?  Well, sometimes they come with an awesome big brother and the nicest parents ever.  Like this little guy.  He is one lucky guy.  Surrounded by so many people who love him.  Myself included….he and his brother kind of stole my heart.

trying something new

A bit ago I decided I wanted to experiment a little with back button focus.  (It’s a fancy way of separating the focusing ability of the camera from the shutter trigger….usually the trigger is in charge of both.)  The jury is still out on whether or not I will be adopting it full time….need a little more practice….but in the meantime, here are a few of one of my very favorite (and oh so agreeable) models….
